Environmental requirement
Ingress, vibration, temperature, corrosion, UV, chemical, transient, and life targets.
Compliance and production control
Applicable requirements
Buyer-defined FMVSS/CMVSS/SAE or other requirements by exact lamp function and installation.
Configuration-matched evidence
Reports, drawings, markings, photos, model, lens, electronics, and production configuration.
Approval and lot control
Sample/FAI plan, inspection points, test frequency, traceability, and lot documents.
Change control and packaging
Controlled components, notification/approval timing, labels, carton, and cosmetic protection.
Approval cautions
- A generic “DOT” mark or unrelated family report is not a complete qualification package.
- Vehicle engineering must define applicability, installation, and final approval requirements.
- The production lamp and its evidence must remain tied through configuration and change control.
